Assembling the car, the nuts & bolts I had were not right so I had to order other ones. Now the suspensions are all assembled correctly. It's getting close to a trial run ! (photo taken before the COVID lockdown here in France, now I won't be able to work on the car for probably two months...)
The rear calipers are Hi Spec, a british brand, they have both regular and handbrake systems integrated in one unit, a very smart design

Partial wiring diagram showing the high-voltage cables
The big green box in the middle is the "hairball" unit for the Zilla 1K main controller, and the board to the right of that is the battery regulator. The Arduino (which might end up being a Raspberry Pi with a servo board, I haven't decided yet) will be controlling the cooling fans, cooling pump and motor advance servo.

Brakes and Floor Panel
Wheels are compomotive CXR 13 inch, 5.5 wide in front 6 on rear. Brakes are Hi Spec, 4 piston front and 2 piston rear. the rears have an integral handbrake mechanism on the side, with dedicated brake pads. The rear installation is a bit particular: the discs are from a citroen AX, 238 diameter, redrilled from 3x98 to 4x108. The ford fiesta hubs were turned down on the lathe so they could fit the discs, and the disc center hole was turned also on the lathe to fit the 63 mm fiesta center. The combined weight savings of using an AX disc and turning down the hub is over 1 kilogram per wheel as compared to a standard fiesta hub & disc.
