  1. Hey David

I just found your blog through the Local Motors post you made. Just wanted to say I think this is an awesome project, and I'm very excited to see the final execution. Do you have plans for the exterior of the car yet? Will you be designing and building the body kit yourself, or using the stock Riot body kit?

Thanks for sharing and will be patiently awaiting future posts!

  2. Thanks Matt, the encouragement is much appreciated. No, there is no body design set in stone yet. Jeremy Phillips suggests that I use his Sylva Riot body, of course, since it was designed for this frame. Personally I think the riot body is really lovely from the waist forward (the front end) but I'm less excited about the rear end. So maybe a Riot nose and a redesigned tail? If I decide to go with a full body it would be something very, very clean and simple.

  3. I agree completely about the Slyva Riot body kit. Everything up to the rear view mirrors looks great, everything toward the rear starts to look a little unresolved. I think that the fact that you will not have a huge muffler hanging off the back warrants a custom, simple, sleek back end that reflects the uniqueness of this giant muffler-less vehicle. I say this as though I am the one paying for it all, haha!

Best of luck with the project, I just checked out your hovercraft videos, very very awesome!

  4. This looks great. I will follow with great interest.

Do you need a mechanical parking brake to get it road legal? I guess you could have that on one of the front wheels, or maybe this is only a problem with the UK IVA test.

  5. J15 bodywork fits on a Riot chassis I think.
